We were tasked to transform a Victorian villa into a contemporary home for modern family living. In addition to creating an expansive extension to form a large open plan kitchen / dining area, the brief included creating converting an existing garage to provide a home gym and study.
A simple palette of quality materials including reclaimed sandstone, zinc rainscreen cladding and high performance glazing was selected.
Through a collaborative approach with the Structural Engineer, supporting steelwork was hidden within external wall panels and in between the high level glazing. This allowed a clean, uncluttered extension to be formed and natural light to flood the new space.
General refurbishment of traditional features ensured the property was restored to the highest standard with re-instatement of cornicing and ceiling roses, roof and stone repairs, and full restoration of all internal woodwork.
